Course Schedule – Spring 2024 / Old Courses / WOMEN IN GREEK DRAMA

Coordinators: Sheryl Harawitz, Mary Ann Donnelly, Donna Ramer.

Antigone, Medea, Clytemnestra, Phaedra, Electra … some of the most fascinating and memorable female characters that have endured over centuries.

Who were these noble, intelligent, passionate—and above all, strong—women and why were they portrayed the way they were given the era in which they were center stage and given a voice? Were the authors giving life to what they admired, what they desired, or what they feared?

B WEEK / MON / 10:30am to 12:00pm
