Quest was born in 1995 when a group of retirees was successful in securing the daytime facilities of the Center for Worker Education (CWE) of the City College of New York (CCNY) to initiate a platform for lifelong learning, exchanging ideas, and developing new interests.
Quest classes will be held online during the fall 2020 semester due to concerns about the Coronavirus. For this semester only, we invite you to subscribe to the Quest fall online program, from September 8th through December 10th, for $150. To learn more about our program, you can participate for free for a 2-week period. Click here to go to our home page to see a video preview of the fall term.
Today Quest is a vital part of the CCNY family with nearly 270 active members who lead each class and self-administer more than 35 peer-taught courses each semester. Sessions for each course are presented every other week during the spring and fall semesters. Classes meet in the morning (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) and afternoon (1:00 – 2:30 pm). Almost all courses meet both terms, which run a total of 28 weeks (two 14-week semesters). Many of our courses continue from one year to the next. Classes are scheduled on Mondays through Thursdays; there are no classes on Fridays, which are reserved for group visits to New York’s cultural institutions.
Quest also offers a Summer session on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in June and July. If you are thinking about joining Quest, you can try it out for the summer for a fee of $100.
Our membership includes retired and semi-retired business people, teachers, musicians, college professors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, editors, homemakers, reporters, dentists, actors, psychologists, librarians, artists and many more with diverse backgrounds.
