Chair meditation is a form of meditation that’s practiced while sitting in a chair instead of on the floor or a cushion. It makes meditation more accessible to people who may have difficulty sitting cross-legged — whether due to age, injury, mobility issues, or simple comfort preference.

A primary benefit of chair meditation is that it provides the same mental and physical benefits as floor meditation — stress reduction, better focus, emotional regulation, relaxation — without the barrier of physical discomfort.
