In this, our first class of this term, I’d like to explore in some detail, with your help and input, several items that I think present some long-term challenges for our children and grandchildren. Many people feel there is a disconnect between the overall mood of the country and how things are going in general. So we will explore the state of the U.S. economy and how it appears to different groups in the country. And, we will examine measures of US happiness, including consumer confidence and satisfaction, rising anxiety, and trust in institutions. Come prepared for what we hope will be a lively discussion.
