Courses / Science & Philosophy / READING CHRISTIAN SCRIPTURES: BETWEEN FAITH AND REASON II
Coordinators: Paul Golomb, Bob Martin
In fall 2019, we explored Hebrew scripture. This class now moves on to the Bible that Christians call The New Testament. We will look at the Bible in its setting, the first and second centuries of the Christian Era, and at its conceptual origins in the Hebrew Bible. We will consider the Jesus of history, of the evangelists and of the apostle Paul. And we will investigate what makes Christian Scripture Christian. Participants should make a point of having a copy of the Bible at hand.
